Valette - Impact melt and fine-grained breccia
Impact melt from the region is light brown in colour and exhibits a honey-combed type pattern. It can easily be distinguished from other rocks as it is lighter in weight (less dense) than the breccias, suevites and other rocks.

In the images below, the first image is impact melt, the remaining three are fine grained breccias.  These differ from the Montoume, Chassenon and Rochechouart breccias in that the clasts (the consolidated fragments) are much smaller here.
