La Judie - Large mica flaked metamorphic schist
La Judie is not a very rewarding venue for a field trip due to the dense undergrowth surrounding the village. However, where this has been cleared/disturbed, such as by deep ploughing, good examples of metamorphic schist can be seen.

The schist here are particularly interesting due to the large flakes of mica (muscovite) they contain. These can be seen well in the first two images below.  The complex folding within the rock, such as in the lower left image,  is evidence of extreme temperature and pressure during the metamorphism commensurate with the asteroid impact.
