Champagnac
Taking the D54 from Rochechouart, turning right onto the D52 and thence the D86 north will take you to Champagnac.  The tiny village is dominated today by the Carrieres de Champagnac, the quarries just outside the town.  Whilst the quarry and its works are not accessible to members of the public, we can recommend a beautiful walk along the banks of the small river La Chasse to Valette.

Continue along the D86, passing the village of Champagnac until a sharp turning (on the right) off the D86 towards the Carries de Champagnac works.  This small road (called La forge) leads to the quarry.  However, a 100m or so from the road junction there is a small off road area available for parking and from here, easy access to the river.  Crossing the river by the footbridge and turning right will (eventually) lead to Valette.
