Astronomical Clubs and Learned Societies

Our astronomer is available to give entertaining and informative talks on various aspects of the Sun and the asteroids.  We will only charge £30 plus reasonable travel and materials expenses to present at registered societies and charities.  Topics available for presentation include:

  • The Sun; form and structure
  • Power generation within the Sun
  • The physics of the Sun
  • Solar formation, evolution and end-point
  • The nature and reality of asteroids
  • Asteroid orbital dynamics; gravitational and non-gravitational forces
  • The Limousin asteroid impact event of the late Triassic era

Astronomy is a mathematical science and many aspects require some level of knowledge of maths in order to fully appreciate the topic.  However, the level and use of mathematics in each of the above sessions can and will be set appropriate to the knowledge of the attendees.
