Conferences and Team Meetings

Conferences and Team Meetings
Have you ever thought about engaging an astronomer as a guest speaker for your conference?

If you are looking for something a bit different this year, memorable, entertaining and informative, something to stretch the imaginations and push the boundaries of normal business life, then have a look at what we can offer.

Our astronomer previously held director level positions in both SME and large corporate companies, and is skilled at engaging and presenting to both small and large audiences.

We can attend your event, daytime or evening, and present any of the following sessions. Each talk will be an entertaining, informative hour long presentation, with plenty of time for questions and discussion afterwards.

The Sun - our Star.  Why doesn't it explode?
It's fairly common knowledge that the Sun produces its energy by nuclear fusion.  But why doesn't it explode?  Where did the Sun come from, how long has it been around, and how long do we have left?

Discovering the death of the early dinosaurs in France
A mass species extinction 201 million years ago coincided with a massive asteroid impact in the Limousin region of France.  Our astronomer will share the nature of this and our researches into this little known event.

Are we really going to get hit by an asteroid?
Every now and again a 'scare' story will appear in mainstream media.  But are they just scare stories?  How likely is a cosmic collision, what are scientists doing about the risks, and what would happen if we were hit?

An Astronomer calls
Why, and how, would a successful business leader make a radical career change? Hear about the motives, challenges, and joys of our astronomer in establishing Observatoire Solaire and a new reputation.

Our fees for any of the above talks are a fixed rate of £200 (plus travel and materials related expenses).
